Organisation hosts 50 live crowdfunding events.
The Funding Network (TFN), is celebrating a significant milestone of 50 live crowdfunding events supporting social innovation and the growth of grassroots non-profits around the country.
TFN hosts events around Australia that bring together individuals, foundations, corporates and grassroots non-profits to pool funds and create social change.
Lisa Cotton, Co-Founder and CEO of The Funding Network said, “These events are making philanthropy more accessible by empowering the community to band together and give in new, and exciting ways”.
Founded in 2013, The Funding Network has supported over 160 grassroots non-profits that work across many social issue areas, including homelessness, Indigenous affairs, domestic violence, refugees, mental health and more. The organisation has so far facilitated $6.8 million in funding and extensive in-kind support for these organisations operating both locally and abroad.
“In its short period of operation, TFN is bearing fruit and bringing great rewards: to those with powerful ideas for social change; to those who support it; and to those vulnerable people who get the help they need to live fulfilling lives,” said former TFN Chairman Allan English.
Previous TFN presenter Will Small from Musicians Making a Difference said, “It’s personal, it’s engaging, it’s exciting. Trying to secure funding and support can typically be quite dry, but The Funding Network’s live crowdfunding events are extremely dynamic and inspiring. The process even refined my own passion for the work we are doing, by working on distilling our heart into the pitch.”
Lisa Cotton said, “We’re thrilled to see the TFN live crowdfunding events are being embraced by people from all sectors of society and all around the country. We’re passionate about changing the way these sectors come together to enable everyone to play a role in creating change in our communities.”
