Social enterprise is a global movement with the potential to truly change the world. By applying business savvy to social change projects and programs, social enterprise organisations have the capacity to drive positive change from the bottom up.
The Funding Network (TFN) has long championed the work of local social enterprises in Australia. Through high-energy, high-impact live crowdfunding events, TFN provides a platform for social entrepreneurs to share their stories and secure funding from everyday Australians, philanthropists and foundations interested in backing high-potential ideas. “It’s like TFN attaches a rocket ship to you,” said one of the early stage for-purpose organisations that has benefited from the long tail of TFN support.
This September, some of the world’s leading policymakers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs in the social enterprise space will convene in Brisbane for the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF). Now in its fourteenth year, SEWF has created a platform for learning, sharing, collaborating and pitching for the social enterprise sector.
Three grassroots social enterprises have been carefully selected by an independent selection panel from more than 30 applications to pitch at a special TFN crowdfunding event to close out the first night of the SEWF on September 28th. Together, the live and virtual audience will raise funds for BackTrack Works to facilitate the employment of vulnerable young people; Clean Slate Clinic to support Australians in remote communities to safely undergo alcohol detox from home, and Loop Upcycling to continue providing employment to refugee women through their corporate upcycling program.
Experience the joyful optimism of collective giving as these social enterprises pitch to raise funds for projects committed to creating a fairer, more equitable world for Australians today.
