The Funding Network CEO Julie McDonald says charities have successfully harnessed technology to adapt in “all sorts of ways” during the coronavirus pandemic.
“In our world, in The Funding Network we do live events, so COVID was set to have a detrimental impact on what we did, but we quickly adapted online and we’ve actually seen a 32 per cent increase over 19 events,” McDonald told Sky News. “We worked with a platform called Crowdcast which has let us actually create that same energy using the chat function."
“We do pitch and pledge events, so what’s been incredible is actually having non-profits come online, do their five-minute pitch and seeing that outpouring of support for them”.
